President Donald Trump said he spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin and King Salman of Saudi Arabia about the negotiations. Some US producers have been calling for caps on domestic production, and Texas regulators have planned a meeting on the topic next week. In the time since, prices have collapsed. International benchmark Brent crude traded Thursday over $34 a barrel as the US benchmark West Texas crude traded under $27. That is just over 50 percent lower than at the start of the year. At one point, prices were down about 60 percent.
