The 57-year-old, affectionately known as V-mash, stole the hearts of many South Africans as one of the presenters on youth show, Jam Alley onFriends and family who gathered at her home to bid her farewell have described her as a fearless and vibrant character who paved the way for many entertainers in the country.
In the video below, the Mashego family says it is still coming to terms with the loss of television star Vinolia Mashego:“The producers of the shows would come up with scripts, but Vinolia would come up with her own script. She broke barriers; she defied rules, but in a good way. She was entertaining. You would watch a show and say ‘I’m a producer, why didn’t I think of that?’ She was just talented. We grew up going to clubs, parties. So, she’s been an inspiration to us during those dark days.
