Company 'knew' virus was running rampant on Ruby Princess, court told

Princess Cruises has been accused of knowing about coronavirus outbreaks during the past two voyages of the Ruby Princess and “recklessly” putting lives at risk by continuing “business as usual”, according to a lawsuit filed in the United States., has been filed by the family of Ruby Princess passenger and Los Angeles resident Chung Chen, who died on April 4 as a result of COVID-19.

Passengers boarded without proper screening alongside crew who had already been exposed to the virus and some of whom had “[come] down with the symptoms”, it alleges.Soon, coronavirus was “running rampant” on the second voyage around New Zealand, and when Princess Cruises became aware, it added “insult to injury” by failing to quarantine passengers.

It has been reported that the ship was deemed “medium risk” by NSW Health because of 158 sick passengers on board when it docked on March 8.However, according to a statement issued by Princess Cruises, there was no reason for the second voyage to be cancelled, because swabs taken by NSW Health from people on board had tested negative for COVID-19.

The ship is now marooned off the NSW coast with over 1000 crew members on board, but will soon be forced to depart for the Philippines.their biggest fear was falling ill and needing a ventilator during their 14-day journey to Manila. "If we get sick, we can't get a helicopter to medically evacuate anyone because we will be in the middle of the sea and too far away."

Not the company! Blame the government!

Imagine Australian crew members on other cruise ships being treated like criminals as this crew are. Shameful. Sh*t would hit the fan. But it’s okay for us to do it. No it isn’t! This entire farce is being handled beyond disgracefully by so many levels of govt. Shame!

I doubt that it was a virus that was running rampant on the Ruby Princess. One only need investigate the RFID technology that crew and passengers wear and the radiation associated with the vessels navigation and radar equipment WiFried

Dutton and Border force. Blameworthy !

Border force and NSW health would have had more than a sneaking suspicion too... And didn't stop the boat, or the passengers getting off it.

Hmm yes let’s focus on the ship rather than the Govt depts such as Home Affairs who are tasked to look after us!

Why is this ship still here? It should have been sent back to China weeks ago

Of course they did. Profits over people has been their mantra for the past decade. Cruise industry is out of control. Too much money. Needs to be cut down to size.

My God

Now let's watch them all get away with it.

Despite ScottMorrisonMP banning cruise ships docking, PeterDutton_MP and Border Force let them anyway. No responsibility, no repercussions auspol2020

Dutton knew

they knew abt ruby Princess but they feared if d ship is placed in quarantine like Yokohama saga they'd lose money NSW was complicit they just waves d passengers as they did not have man power to check them all Both are negligent Both r in parasitic relationship

Dutton and Border Force knew Ruby Princess was a plague ship and let it dock unload all of its passengers anyway corona

Coronavirus and Cruise ships a perfect match.
