KUALA LUMPUR: Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz has suggested that accrued interest or profit imposed by financial institutions on hire purchase customers be waived during the six-month moratorium period.

He said there were banks that offered the loan moratorium without charging accrued interest or compounded interest on the loans.

Tengku Zafrul said the issue was under the purview of the Bank Negara, but the ministry had taken a proactive step to discuss with it, as well as the banks, for a decision based on the people's needs. "The government is sensitive to the voice of the people, especially those from the B40 and M40 groups.

Kalau nak suruh pihak bank melakukan apa yg Menteri Kewangan arahkan pihak MKN hendaklah membuat satu peraturan baru MCO secara rasmi baru BNM faham sebab gabenor BNM bengap sebab dia org kuat LGE dan Tony Puah dgn 30 PENYAMUN, baru dia faham tak kalo TENDANG JER..

Urge? That’s all you can do? Useless ****

Recommend? Thats all you can bloody do? You r the FM. Implement what you announce la. Direct the banks, instead of Suggest or Recommend.

Few months on board , seems like very good and pointing fingers and looking for scapegoat . Nice

Berdrama nampak. Penat aku dgn politikus kaki pusing

Urge vs Instruct. Know the difference

fix it. it's your problem

Ahahahahahahaha syaqib_

Urge? Incompetent backdoor lacky mof.

Bnm governor should quit then...

🤦‍♀️

Incompetent fool. Majulah Malaysia with backdoor fools around.

Time running short for BNM governor....either way she’s on the way out now....

Hahahahaha hahahahaha what happened now from ur 250 billion stimulus package! Now calling all banks to pay for the 6 months interest for the borrowers the finance minister came up with his proposal but bank has to pay ?

I urge u to resign!

He have worked for a bank and he knows full well that no banks will do that. Bank obligation is to their shareholder and nobody else. That's the consequences of consolidating banks into just a few. They are too big for governments to control. We reap what we sow.

💩

jay_saidso kita tgk ada yg nak beli tak.

I also can urge the banks to forgive my loans. So, why do we need to appoint a minister and two deputies to 'urge urge'? Kindda a waste of space rite?

Dear Finance Minister, if you can urge banks to waive accrued interest on HP loans, Could you spare a little heart to give the Seniors who are Retired but without pensions a better return to make ends meet?

Should have been decided earlier, now ask banks to forgo? Banks survive on interests after loans given out. Why not government absolves all those interests? Win win situation, after all, it is still taxpayers money back to rakyat. Enormous sums can use to bail out GLC but not this

alamak, this guy jst knew he was not banker, but he still don't recognize he himselft as FM either. come on...all to be absorbed by government will do, i thank you for that, guess many too.

Poorly researched. Banks to waive? Again not a great idea, pass the bulk to the banks to deal with this

Urge or Beg ? This is what happens when you tzafrul_aziz open your mouth without consulting the banking industry or BNM_official first And now you lay blame on BNM_official for your screwups You created this mess. You sort it out.

Apa benda la depa nih?!!

Masa umum pakej takde buat kajian?
