Palaszczuk outlines plan to reopen Queensland, restart tourism with eyes on New Zealand

Ms Palaszczuk said it was too early to give a definite timeframe on when travel to and from New Zealand could commence.

"It makes sense, it makes economic sense, of course it depends at what stage the health advice is that we can do that and of course a number of states have border restrictions in place like we do," she said. "I know a lot of New Zealanders live in Queensland and vice versa so hopefully down the track we can look at some freedom of movement there so that would be wonderful for everybody.""She's done a mighty job over there in New Zealand."

Five new cases were recorded in Queensland in the last day, including three "old" cases first detected interstate.More than 117,000 tests have been conducted.

Please please allow domestic travel. Especially between states doing well like SA NT. Im from SA and need to see my familiy in NQ.

Please stop talking rubbish!......dumb selfish politicians have done significant socioeconomic damage and harming the society unnecessarily from over exaggerated reaction in dealing with this plan-demic.

With restrictions easing why not allow hospitality industry to reopen; 30 - 40% of capacity. Seating to ensure social distancing. New customers sit at an empty table & vacated table is disinfected. Continuous testing of staff & temp test clients. A possibility for some income
