KUALA LUMPUR: There are no plans to amend the law to compel companies to disclose the salaries of their employees based on gender, says Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi .

"As such there is no intention to amend the Companies Act for companies to report on employees’ salaries in the annual report to the Companies Commission," the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister said when answering a question raised by Maria Chin Abdullah in Dewan Rakyat on Monday . She said the amendment is crucial as it would be in line with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals promoting gender equality.

Under the standard, he said there is no need for companies to reveal details such as employees’ salaries, grades and bonuses in the annual report to the Companies Commission.
