Restaurant sales climbed as stay at home orders lifted across the US. Now, foot traffic has slumped again

While there are indications that sales are once again improving, experts say the restaurant industry's period of "rapid recovery" is over.

Results in July, however, indicate the improvement in sales experienced by the industry was short-lived. "From the bottom at about the first week of April, we were seeing 5% to 8% increases every week up until late June," Davie said.in parts of the US lead to dining rooms shutting back down and renewed caution among potential customers. Ok, so when restaurants were closed for 2 months and allowed to reopen, their sales went up? But now that restrictions are back in some places, sales are going down. Wow.
