While passenger air traffic plunged during the Covid-19 pandemic, the airfreight business continued to flourish.

“Air cargo movement in East Malaysia alone has doubled,” he said during the inauguration ceremony of its cargo services between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu, and between Kuala Lumpur and Kuching. “The cargo market continues to grow. We are seeing a strong demand in airfreight services in China and Indochina.

Azrul Hisham said the additional aircraft will enable the company to meet the growing demand on the current routes as well as explore new flights, such to China and Indochina.
