PETALING JAYA: Former Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng has been questioned as to why direct negotiation was held for the Klang Valley Double Tracking (Phase 2) (KVDT2) project with a company despite concerns raised by rail experts.

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd had advised Lim against directly negotiating the RM4.475bil KVDT2 tender with the company Dhaya Maju Infrastructure Sdn Bhd - Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera JV , said Bersatu Youth information chief Mohd Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir.

The Armada leader claimed that despite red flags raised in the letter, Lim directly negotiated with the said company and hired it again for Phase 2 on July 5,2019."KTMB knew something was brewing when it decided to send the letter to Lim on Feb 21,2019, five months before Lim awarded the DMIA-LTAT JV, ” said Mohd Ashraf in a press conference Thursday .

In the letter Mohd Rani wrote to Lim, the former said KVDT Phase 1 was not completed according to schedule.
