The Australian Chamber of Tourism’s John Hart says the nation’s tourism industry is being held to ransom by premiers who will not re-open borders and allow people to get "back to business".

“We lost, in the first six months of this year, 136-and-a-half thousand jobs out of our industry because we can’t get people moving around the country,” Mr Hart told Sky News host Chris Kenny. “And we’re going to lose a whole lot more unless we get these borders open, it’s just grinding the industry to a halt. “We’ve got an industry that’s being held to ransom by those premiers.”
