Apple's move to cut App Store commissions in half for small developers is a start, but it mostly misses the real point (by JasonAten)

The problem with this email is that everything that comes after "thank you for being an iOS app developer" doesn't sound like Apple was really all that thankful to have Basecamp as an iOS app developer. It sounded more like Apple was measuring the relationship based on the amount of money Basecamp made, and the lack of commission it'd paid.

JasonAten Apple builds the device and markets and distributes the device to hundreds of millions of people, operates the store and infrastructure, customer service. Very few businesses does that equal only 30% of expenses. Further devs all agreed to the terms and now they got greedy.
