This 26-year-old won a Y Combinator spot for his startup supporting men with eating disorders

Two years ago, Cambridge graduate and serial entrepreneur Richie Cartwright was facing an uphill battle against bulimia – which saw him consume more than 10,000 calories in a day.

Settling on two discounted muffins from a nearby M&S grocery store, Richie had no idea he was about to embark on a binge. Over the past two years, Cartwright has worked hard to tackle his eating disorder head-on, opening up to friends and family about his condition, and setting up an online support network for men suffering from similar problems.

The app, which is currently available from the App Store in beta mode, has so far built a community of a few dozen "Fellas", which Cartwright hopes will grow significantly in 2021. For the CBT materials used on its platform, the three-man firm has brought in Iakovina Koutoufa, a clinical psychologist who specializes in eating disorders.
