As Nigeria searches for a mega carrier that will stand the test of time, meet the desired requirements for operational reciprocity and balance up the Bilateral Air Services Agreements , stakeholders in the nation’s aviation industry have advised domestic airline operators to merge with one another.

It becomes even more worrisome in an era that, COVID-19 safety measures will add to the costs of operation. Speaking on the need for local airline to merge, former commandant Murtala Muhammed International Airport group Captain John Ojikutu noted that the refusal to merge is primarily caused by ego coupled with the fact that there are some loopholes in the government policies.
