Queensland Tourism Industry Council CEO Daniel Gschwind says he is hopeful there will be some support for the tourism industry after JobKeeper ends.

“We are still hoping an announcement will be forthcoming about how the support will be continued before JobKeeper once that comes to an end,” he told Sky News host Chris Smith.

Ms Gschwind said the “situation hasn’t improved” for businesses in the tourism sector and the problem was not localised to Queensland. "For many parts of our industry the situation hasn’t improved all that much, we have international borders still closed, that has an absolutely catastrophic impact on most businesses.”

It should come from Anna. Jobkeeper was funded by WA and NSW while every other state shut up shop.

Should be from Queensland government

Sorry Anna. Queensland problems are for Queenslanders. Much like the hospitals.
