The general manager of a furniture and appliance store in Nova Scotia is wondering why his business wasn’t deemed essential, even though most of its business comes from the sale of essential products.
The demand for appliances has gone up significantly during COVID-19, with more people moving to the province and looking to do more home renovations under lockdown.as an essential product, furniture is not. Under current restrictions, all stores that don’t sell primarily essential goods need to close and only provide services through delivery and pickup.

My 80 year old mother waited 2 months for delivery of a legit piece of furniture to sit on. Made due with a lawn chair and didn’t complain once. Smarten up!
Another well thought out governmental policy. Hopefully the government is flexible when need need to collect taxes from businesses as well
Meanwhile Costco sells appliances along with everything else can stay open and sell what ever a customer chooses to purchase..that is not right !!
If people can order online you're still making a sale so people not being able to touch and ooh and aah over them for 2 weeks isn't going to kill you. As to furniture I can wait to replace my worn out couch when the restrictions are lifted.
