Florida's new law prohibiting businesses from asking whether employees or customers have been vaccinated against COVID-19 may take a toll on its cruise business.

The CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. said Thursday it could cause the company to suspend Florida departures and move its ships elsewhere.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention this week announced guidelines for trial cruises with volunteer passengers to test safety measures, which will be required for each ship before resuming regular passenger voyages in US waters. "It is a classic state versus federal government issue," said Del Rio. "Lawyers believe that federal law applies." He added that the company has been in talks with the governor's office but did not specify what was discussed.

DeSantis had earlier cited freedom and privacy concerns as the primary basis for his executive order, arguing that the implementation and enforcement of vaccine passports would "create two classes of citizens based on vaccinations."

If you are vaxxed why do you care? Let us tin foil hatters all perish...you will be fine

Don’t.. the ones that do, will get all the business. The second oldest population, the largest % of population to go on cruises. The market will decide if that’s a good idea or not.

The vaccine doesn't prevent you from getting the covid19 virus our spreading it. So covid19 vaccine checks are useless.

It would look good on Florida politicians. Many other ports cruise lines can move to.

I honestly couldn't care less for the cruise industry.

Be a real shame if the Governors actions cause the cruse line to pull up stakes.

Bet they don’t

I will be only cruising on lines that have a mandatory vaccine policy!

woozleweasels GOOD CALL!

Who's avoiding who now?

Quite frankly, a lot of tourists may also avoid Florida if it doesn't permit Covid vaccination checks...
