PETALING JAYA: The floral industry has been allowed to operate during the ongoing lockdown starting Saturday (June 12), says Datuk Seri M. Saravanan.

In a video uploaded on his Facebook page, the Human Resources Minister said the National Security Council had decided to allow the floral industry to operate, after listening to the plight of flower farmers who had to dump their harvest and small-time flower traders who had lsot their source of income since June 1."The government has granted permission for the sale of flowers for religious and cultural purposes, with a strict standard operating procedure in place.

"I urge all flower farmers, in Cameron Highlands and elsewhere as well as flower traders, to get in touch with their local Agriculture and Food Industry offices for the SOP to resume their operations," he said.
