Refurbished ferry will spur state’s tourism industry, Penang Port Commission says

The Penang Port Commission says three companies responsible for the refurbishment works and they will be managing the iconic ferries for 15 years. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, July 1, 2021.

THE Penang Port Commission is confident that five iconic ferries handed over to three qualified companies to be refurbished into tourist attractions will be capable of spurring the state’s tourism industry. PPC chairman Tan Teik Cheng said the companies will turn the ferries into a floating museum, two tourist ferries and two floating restaurants.
