Many Amazon and Starbucks workers are part time versus majority of Netflix are full time. That could skew per worker salary and resultant median worker salary figures.

🍎 to 🍊 there bud.

Does this include the content creators like Chapelle? If so, it’s crappy use of stats to drive some narrative.

That’s not an appropriate comparison.

Work for a different company. No one puts a ultimatum on you to work somewhere. I quit a lot of jobs that I didn’t enjoy. Started my own small business. Just saying.

Completely different businesses with completely different skill sets and types of employees. Very weird comparison.

Not the same industry...

Who needs college and/or skills when the WSJ is crusading for 100k barista jobs?

WSJ really? Are you not thinking about the different skill-sets needed and the market rate for those skill-sets?

Yes, the Netflix workers assembling and packing orders for delivery are getting triple!

That’s an apples to oranges comparison. What’s your point?

TFW the Wall Street Journal doesn't understand business structure differences. Who let this get posted? They need to be put on plan.

Also, brain surgeons make more than journalists..

What has become of the Wall Street journal? We Americans are at fault for their demise. They lost sales. Now they resort to clickbait and shock. Just like the rest of the media. Our attention spans have dwindled to 280 characters. Oh the irony of my comment.

Good to know that Netflix warehouse workers who manually deliver movies&seasons to my netflix app are paid well. 👏

These are very different business models. I think the takeaway here is…. Nothing.

Just two different businesses.. yeah? Netflix compare with AWS and the amazon arm of their streaming service the same?

Now do average salary of US senators vs Burger King employees

Seems like a false equivalence; comparing software development with warehouse/coffee bar employees.

This is a stupid comparison unless Netflix is powered by exercise bike or something.

Not only is this an apples-and-oranges comparison, I've seen Netflix's content, and those people are overpaid.

This isn’t quite an apples-to-apples comparison tho….

Really dumb comparison of workers with different skills and education levels not to mention types of businesses. Bad take.

JeffBezos this is why people are saying the rocket should explode

Invisible chains

sad...... Amazon and Starbucks bosses and high managements took to much profits. that's why their bosses are top rich. it's time to strike and request a fair pay raise.

Not the same skills required, the comparison is taking into account quite different industries

85 million jobs will be replaced by machines with AI by the year 2025.

This is unacceptable

Free market....sell your skills to the highest bidder.

Do the tech companies & others just include Employees or all workers - ie the many lower paid workers hired through subcontractors? It is important to know who is counted & how this varies across industry & corporation. (Yes, there are major differences by industry)

Companies should also include the casual labor or 'independent contractors' they use in making these reports.

The exploitation of the American worker has created a class society, the $15.00 hr. minimum wage is being offered by some employers as incentive to healing the nation, over all its a bully approach, do it or else (repubs) took da unemployment, now go to work. Exploitation!

Poverty Inequality Kleptocracy Kakistocracy Social justice Crony Capitalism Fair wages for workers

Articles like this just feed people’s need to hate on employers. I dislike mega corporations like many others, but the median jobs at these companies look very different and warrant different pay.

I too would like to make 100k $ making coffees and moving boxes!

And in other news, jobs requiring little training pay much less than those requiring higher education and advanced cognitive skills.
