The summit themed, ‘Diaspora Partnership and Linkages for Post-COVID Economic Growth,’ will focus on diaspora investment in the country.
A statement on Wednesday, by Gabriel Odu of the public relations unit of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, said the event is expected to yield investments in agribusiness, education, healthcare, creative, entertainment and sport, infrastructure and real estate, manufacturing, telecommunications, ICT and Fintech, and oil and gas.
The statement quoted the NiDCOM Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, as stating that the summit would provide a boost to the government’s current emphasis on providing support for the small business sector and agriculture, through massive infrastructure development. Also, the Summit Coordinator, Dr Badewa Adejugbe-Williams, called on both the private sector and small medium enterprises to seize the opportunity, “as the experience gained will help boost business growth, innovation and networks.”She stated, “NDIS is a private sector initiative backed and enabled by government through the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission.
The event will also host a Diaspora Housing Fair, where Nigerians in the diaspora will be availed of various opportunities to own their homes in Nigeria seamlessly.All rights reserved.
