“Mystery” US Energy Storage Company Breaks Through Veil Of Silence

At the time, FlexGen reported that its “HybridOS” platform had more than 260 megawatts and 171 megawatt-hours of storage under its belt, totaling more than 202,000 hours of runtime in commercial operation. With a total of 40 megawatts, the new North Carolina projects add a significant chunk of change to the FlexGen pot., the aim of the FlexGen project is to add “local energy resources in communities for enhanced grid infrastructure resilience and reliability for co-op consumer-members.

“Electric cooperatives in North Carolina have worked together for years to lead innovative energy strategies, including community solar, microgrids, demand response programs and solar plus storage initiatives,” NCEC emphasized.

...there was also the small matter of the 2.1GWh deal FlexGen got for Ameresco in California a month ago.

Good for leveling the grid. Coal fired generation that is stored in a battery isn't magically made clean. IMHO every local and regional grid needs massive storage.
