South Africa’s COVID-19 positivity rate has dropped further and now stands at 10.6% after 2 597 new cases were recorded in the latest reporting cycle.

According to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases, almost 24 400 tests were done in the period. Another 89 Covid-19-related deaths have been confirmed of which 25 occurred in the past 24 to 48 hours. This brings the total number of fatalities since the start of the pandemic to 93 364.
