Women walk and rely on public transport more than men and would be willing to cycle and use public transport more it if they felt safer, according to research from two Technological University Dublin academics. The groups of women most reliant on public transport - those on low-incomes and belonging to an ethnic minority - are also the group most worried about safety and security, the research showed.
