This as the South African Weather Services issued a warning that the province will experience bad weather over the next few days.Provincial Transport Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says traffic officers are on the ground monitoring the situation. “We’d like to issue a warning to road users in the Eastern Cape and motorist in particular to be extra cautious on the roads as conditions are wet and slippery rainy conditions engulfed our province in some parts of the province which makes visibility poor .We have seen accidents happening, thankfully none have been serious or have been deadly at this stage and we would like to keep it that way.

The rains may result in flooding in some low lying areas. Ayabonga Tshungwana from the South African weather services says this is due to a cut off low that is sitting over the interior of the country.
