The rise of the labour unions in the US helped set working standards, rules and minimum wages, which benefited workers around the world. So why is it that big companies like Amazon and Starbucks are fighting tooth and nail against them?

Amazon warehouse workers in New York’s Staten Island made history this month after they voted and succeeded in creating the first labour union at the e-commerce giant.
