President Michael D Higgins overshadowed his own speech on climate change at the opening of the DCU Centre for Climate and Society in Dublin on Thursday with his attack on Elon Musk. As you’re probably aware, without naming Musk directly, the president criticised attempts by billionaires to control public discourse, and described the purchase of Twitter for $44 billion as a case of “dangerous narcissism”.
