A recent report from the South African Reserve Banks shows how much foreign direct investment has occurred over the first quarter of 2022.

South Africa remains an attractive and lucrative investment destination, says Alvin Botes, deputy minister of international relations and cooperation.

“Non-residents’ net acquisition of equities of R52.0 billion in the first quarter of 2022 followed net sales of R37.0 billion in the previous quarter, while net purchases of debt securities of R12.3 billion followed net sales of R3.0 billion over the same period.” “This signals that South Africa’s macroeconomic and political fundamentals are in place, reinforcing our position as a credible investment destination.”
