ICYMI: Energy Economist Lungile Mashele has slammed the governing ANC’s plan of a second state-owned power utility.

Energy Economist Lungile Mashele has slammed the governing ANC’s plan of a second state-owned power utility., President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the party is considering establishing the entity to reduce the risk posed by Eskom’s failings. According to the president, the proposal was tabled by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe.

Mashele says this shows just how out of touch the governing party is with what is happening in the country. Eskom went to government and told them they were going to run out of electricity in 10yrs and they need to do something. The failure of Eskom emanated at that point and that was at the hands of the ANC. This is the same ANC that’s now saying that they want a second entity.

I’m honored to invest and withdraw without stress I got my 70k all through Mike_Rosehart I urge everyone to invest with this man Philip he’s the best I can recommend 😊 Great! No hidden fees They have good brokerage

Isn't this just a plan for another SOE to overstaff, overpay and loot? Why not just sign a document to allow a private company to run this one? Probably it could very very easily compete with Eskom one on one and make a profit FOR ALL THE people who bought shares in it on the JSE

President Ramaphosa forgot to say his joking 🤞

28 years anc with Zuma screwed a while country over that bliksem with his crooks must all rot I jail and take all assets they stole back

Ramaphosa sees second state power company as route to energy stabilityThe government is considering creating a second state-owned power company to compete with Eskom, reducing the risk of having a single entity supplying most of the nation’s power supply, President Cyril Ramaphosa said. Thats a good idea.Bring in another State owned electricity supplier to rival Eskom, that way you'll have competition especially since both will be state owned.Private energy suppliers can come into the space as well, but not on the basis of privatizing Eskom,No. Leave Eskom as SOE Oh like RET and Thuma mina but I still don't get it? Just deliver the damn service!!!
