New York State Attorney General Letitia James is conducting a civil investigation examining whether the Trump Organization inflated real estate values

.Mr Trump has denied wrongdoing and called the New York investigation politically motivated. Ms James is a Democrat.

When running for office, and as US President, Mr Trump had broken with modern precedent and refused to make his tax returns public. Yesterday, the court ruled in favour of the House Committee, but has allowed a period for Mr Trump to appeal to the Supreme Court - a course of action he is likely to follow.

The US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit said the committee's request was justified as part of its legislative work. The court found that the committee's request did not violate separation of powers principles under the US Constitution and that the decision by President Joe Biden's administration to provide Mr Trump's tax returns to Congress did not infringe upon Mr Trump's free speech rights.

The tax ruling came a day after Mr Trump said FBI agents raided his Florida estate and accessed his safe in what his son said was part of an investigation into the former president's removal of official records from the White House.

What would it take to start the same investigation into FG over here, I wonder. 🤔 Pretty open and shut case, really, seeing as that evil bastard, Noonan, all but admitted doing exactly that. But wait, look over there.

Next thing they’ll be investigating is how long it takes him to go to the bathroom. Utterly ridiculous! MAGA2024
