That 20-second video, filmed spontaneously in her Melbourne living room, was the beginning of what was soon to become a thriving international company.Dani Regan runs a successful design company called Danibydsgn.
Customers have also had her designs printed onto clothing, packaging, used them in specialist nail art, and one has had her design made into a branding iron for cattle."It's just crazy to me how it all eventuated," she told 9news.com.au."I don't like saying it fell in my lap - because I've obviously worked very hard, and long hours and learnt how to create a website and learnt how to do so many things - but it just kind of took on a life of its own on the internet.
Taken aback by the unexpected attention, Dani agreed to fulfil her fans' requests, and began posting videos of her creating monograms of their names on the app. "And the coolest thing is is they're different, like people are getting them really big, or really small with color added to them." In June this year, Dani found it was no longer sustainable to keep working in her office job while also running her business - which is now a company by definition - and left the corporate world.Dani says she has social media to thank for helping drastically change her life.
It was also through social media group that she connected with a kind stranger and "master engraver" from Echuca, in regional Victoria, who offered to teach her how to engrave.
