PETALING JAYA: Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has voiced his satisfaction over the progress and strong cooperation shown among the parties involved in the construction of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project.

Dr Wee, who visited the project site in Terengganu yesterday, said he was pleased by the cooperation shown by the project owner, the Malaysia Rail Link and Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning contractor, China Communications Construction Company Ltd .

“I am very happy and satisfied to see that MRL as the owner of the ECRL project as well as CCCC, which is the EPCC contractor for this project, can work together well, especially in sharing skills and expertise that benefit local workers. “I’m sure many can’t wait to receive the economic spillover when the ECRL is completed in early 2027,” he said in a Facebook post.He said the bridge No. 60 construction site that spans up to 360m, crosses the Terengganu River in Pulau Manis, Serada, Kuala Terengganu.“The total length of Bridge No. 60 is 5km, which is the longest bridge in the construction area of Section 3.

The ECRL is a 640km railway link connecting states in the east coast and west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, which aims to reduce land travel time between both regions.
