Shaq is bringing his Big Chicken franchise to Florida, other markets

is bringing his fast-casual chicken restaurant franchise Big Chicken to Florida and beyond.

The 45-unit expansion deal will bring the brand to Tampa, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Miami. Florida commercial hospitality development company DMD Ventures completed the deal with Big Chicken. According to a release, the company owns and operates in various industries specializing in high-profile brands.

“At the time, we weren’t looking to add another franchise brand to our portfolio, but when we came across Big Chicken and looked into the concept, it became a no-brainer,” saidBig Chicken was founded in 2018, and its menu features foods from O’Neal’s childhood, from crispy chicken sandwiches and tenders to Cheez-It crusted mac n’ cheese and handcrafted ice cream shakes.

Existing locations are currently open in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and the Dayton, Ohio region, as well as Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, metro-New York’s UBS Arena, and The Moody Center in Austin.
