Patented powered lift sets this plane apart

The hands-free powered lift, developed by EVAS, is what sets this modified Beechcraft 1900D apart in the air ambulance industry. - ContributedInnovative thinking by a Newfoundland-based aviation company is helping ambulance service providers improve customer service and efficiency.

There’s also enough space and seating to allow for more people — including extra medical staff, multiple patients or family members — to travel together. “A smaller aircraft could only have moved one patient at a time, meaning 10 trips. We did it in one.” The family members of the victim could also travel in the Beechcraft 1900, instead of having to get a separate, commercial flight.

“They asked us to look at some options around occupational health and safety, measures to prevent injuries from the lifting of heavy loads, like bariatric patients.”

I miss being able to fly from St. John's to Saint John and connect in Halifax on these planes. *sigh* Now I have to connect in Toronto or fly to Moncton. :\\ But good that they found a way to thrive after Air Canada.
