THE robust inflow of foreign investments in the second quarter of 2022, particularly in the transportation and storage industry, as well as in the manufacturing sector, is expected to drive industrial and warehouse space absorption, according to Colliers Philippines.

Region-wise, Central Luzon was the largest recipient, accounting for around 73 percent or P33.94 billion of overall pledges, followed by Central Visayas amounting to P3.94 billion or 8.5 percent, and Cavite–Laguna–Batangas–Rizal–Quezon with P3.7 billion or 8.0 percent. “From 2022 to 2024, we see the completion of about 307 hectares [760 acres] of new industrial space in Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales,” Bondoc revealed.

With this in mind, Colliers believes that property firms must continually develop industrial parks and modernize their warehouses here to capture its economic growth and constant industrial space take up from manufacturing locators.
