On the Board of Directors of the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Tiger Academy of Jacksonville, and is an alumnus of both Leadership Jacksonville and Leadership Florida. He is also active with youth programs at Bethel Baptist Institutional Church.
Jacksonville native Eric Green knows what it means to lead a team to success, not only for himself, but to impact those around him. Green grew up an only child in a tight-knit family on the Northside of Jacksonville. His father was a truck driver, his grandfather a brick mason, and his mother a nurse’s assistant. He knew what hard work looked like, and made sure to follow in their footsteps to create a foundation of pride and providing for his own family.
Learning early on that teamwork is a person’s life, whether in relationships or professionally, he took lessons from basketball and political campaigns with him as he became the onlyin North America. He says he got there by recognizing that he has to surround himself with great people.if you walk in a room and you think you're the smartest person in the room, then you're in trouble.”
He said it’s important to build relationships with every anchor of the company, from the CEO all the way through the halls to the clerks, because without every person there, he couldn’t lead Jaxport to new depths, to reach new goals. This team helps him break new boundaries every day, challenging new ideas from deepening the harbor to becoming an international first port of call.
