As always, sanctions also hurt the country imposing them, often in the long run. This articles also points out the raw materials needed, which is a problem for the U.S.. Good read:

Wishful thinking at best. Didn’t we try this before with advanced CNC machines, military hardware, satellite tech, the space station and even Intel chips for supercomputers? Guess what? China ended up all making it on their own within a few years

And I have it on good authority, that there is absolutely no way a country like China could ever engineer or manufacture such advance technology like that on their own...

Fat lot of good THAT will do; Taiwan MAKES chips, so china'll just 'annex' Taiwan and have all the chips they'll ever need -- and biden won't lift a confused finger, just like with PUTIN!!!!
