“We can make this work,” he said, pointing to the city’s proposed bus rapid transit system as a key means of getting people to and from events. Once a site is picked, Clark said the city can do more detailed planning work. He repeated that the goal remains to find a way to pay for the new facility without adding to the property tax rate.

Although moving the Sask. Polytechnic campus is largely a provincial government matter, Clark said the prospect of relocating such a large institution will carry implications for the city on everything from bus routes to utility services. He added he hopes to see the institution maintain ties with the downtown core, where it has operated satellite campuses.
