Such a heartwarming gesture to help those who are struggling 🥰

Neil’s Greengrocers have been trading at Leeds Kirkgate Market for nearly forty years. They are ramping up their efforts to help as many families as possible get a Christmas dinner as the cost of living crisis will impact many families' Christmas spending and celebrations this year.

The fruit and vegetable traders have supported the community through difficult times over the years. They provided food for those isolating during the pandemic with their incredible ‘Donate a Dinner’ campaign which they launched in 2021.Neil's Greengrocers are asking members of the public to donate just £1 to support the scheme before December 18. For every £10 a family will receive a big box of fresh vegetables, fruit, a large pie, custard, and a large chicken in each box.

Donations received will be turned into Christmas boxes and delivered to Give a Gift charity in LS8 and Meanwood Church in LS6 to ensure as many families as possible get a proper dinner on 25 December. Last year 300 Christmas boxes were donated and it is hoped this will be the minimum this year. Neil’s Greengrocers have teamed up with Malcom Michaels Butchers of Cross Gates to supply the meat for the meals at cost price. A spokesperson for Neil's Greengrocers said: "Every year we try and help a few families have a great Christmas.

"This year we have decided to help as many families as possible and we are asking as many people as possible to give what they can." To donate a diner click here.
