Designed by Gensler, this 900,000-square-foot Burlingame building will rise 13 stories in height after seeing nearly 33 feet shaved off of its proposed height.

Lincoln Property Company this week received the green light from the Burlingame Planning Commission for the construction of a 13-story office and R&D building after shaving nearly 33 feet off of its proposed height.

On Monday, the Commission unanimously approved a revised plan for roughly 900,000-square-foot building reaching 194 feet in height. The top portion of the building would provide the office and R&D space totaling 403,400 square feet, while the lower six stories will house a parking garage, a ground-floor lobby and a cafe that would be open to the public.

The vision for the project is to create a"great work place for life sciences and tech, which is the epicenter of Burlingame," saidWhile the project will be constructed to accommodate life science companies with 15-foot floor-to-ceilings heights, future tenants will ultimately determine its use as office or lab space. Lincoln said that the building is not being built out for any specific company and could house multiple tenants.

The project is expected to generate revenue of about $19 million in one-time fees for Burlingame, including $7.5 million set aside for affordable housing.
