In a report published Tuesday, the International Energy Agency forecast a sharp acceleration in installations of renewable power. It now expects green energy to overtake coal to become the largest global source of electricity by early 2025. Global renewable power capacity is now expected to grow by 2,400 gigawatts between 2022 and 2027, an amount equal to the entire power generating capacity of China today, according to the report.
According to the IEA report, the war in Ukraine is a “decisive moment for renewables in Europe,” where governments and businesses are scrambling to replace Russian gas with alternatives. The European Union now prohibits Russian crude oil imports by sea, setting up the bloc to have phased out 90% of oil imports from Russia by the end of the year. Flows of Russian natural gas via pipeline to Europe are now running at just 20% of their pre-war level, according to analysts.
LaMonicaBuzz Look at Europe, look at the damage of the WEF SDGs. It was 20 years ago that Al Gore said the polar ice caps would melt. Made a lot of money off that fear mongering. Nuclear is one way to go and is proven time and time ago lots of power for a little money.
LaMonicaBuzz Great, points to more investing opportunities in renewables and ESG strategies.
Lies 😡😈🖐️
Nuclear Is The Way Forward
And yet there's still no viable alternative to fossil fuels. fact
Solar and wind are intensely destructive to the environment, hydrogen and thorium are far better solutions. Invest the time and money to develop these safer, cleaner technologies.
Hmm...why does a timeframe of five years of rapid development sound so familiar...? There should be a snazzy name for it, like Five-Year Plan! Srsly, if this was about clean energy we'd all be running on nuclear by now.
Too bad wind farms are dangerous and shouldn’t exist
