Why logistics company ArdentX gives workers a second chance

Chuck and Connor Miller are business owners who believe in second chances. If they didn't, the father and son would never have succeeded in business together.

After the devastation, he spiraled into a world of self-doubt and addiction to pain medication, which ultimately led to more hard-core drugs and a heroin addiction. From 2011 to 2015 I was arrested five times, spent a total of 22 months behind bars, spent a stint homeless, and went to six rehabs. I finally got clean in 2015 and began working for my dad," Miller said.

His dad gave him a chance, putting him in driver services, becoming a career sales representative – “the bottom of the barrel,” for Connor at the time. “If I go apply at Crowley tomorrow, they're not even going to consider my application and look at it," he said."They're going to screen it for background and they're going to say, 'No, this kid's got two felonies on his record, it looks like he's been involved with some drugs and stuff.'
