“We remain committed to these pro-competitive transactions that will bring more choice, more affordability and more connectivity to Canadians,” Rogers and Shaw said in a joint statement. “The tribunal has determined that the proposed transactions and ancillary agreements comprising the arrangement … are not likely to prevent or lessen competition substantially,” the decision said. “In other words, the merger and divestiture are not likely to result in materially higher prices, relative to those that would likely prevail in the absence of the arrangement.”

The Tribunal really works hard to put on a show. Why waste our money setting up such institution and finally taxpayers are still being screwed up to pay more on our cell phone service?

This is such a shame that the very institution i.e Competition Tribunal, supposed to guard Canadians from the rip-off of monopolies is clearing path for further rip-off 👎and consolidation of monopolies👎 CompBureau Rogers Shaw
what does a competition tribunal do if it allows a merger in the least competitive cellular market in the free world. I imagine it would be a institution for generating kickbacks
