On Saturday, the popular Cape Town outlet, V&A Food Market, announced on Twitter that its lease had not been renewed and that its last day of trading will be next Sunday, 22 January 2023.

For many years, the food market was a popular place to eat for both locals and tourists who wanted a lively atmosphere, a wide range of food options, and low prices.More than 40 tenants who sell regional goods are currently housed in the store.The market tweeted that its lease had not been renewed and that the final day of trading would be the following Sunday.

Sad news – our beloved market is closing. A big thank you to all our customers and vendors for their wonderful support over the years. We hope you’ll continue to support all your foodie faves in their new adventures beyond our walls. Our last day of trading is 22 Jan 2023.
