The new night market is expected to start in February on Saturdays from 4.30pm to 10pm with about 30 traders.

The site is opposite the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters and Section 8 food court along Jalan Lampam 8/3.

Bukit Gasing assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran said the new night market was expected to start in February on Saturdays from 4.30pm to 10pm with about 30 traders. “The nearest night market is 5km away in Section 17,” he said, adding that Section 7, PJS 51 and PJ Old Town residents would also benefit from the pasar malam.Rajiv said all aspects of the night market will be managed by MBPJ.

The 57 lots of the night market will take up about a quarter of the parking lot, leaving ample room for parking and future expansion if response is good.“The food court in Jalan Lampan 8/3 used to be lively but business has dropped since the Covid-19 pandemic.Rajiv added that he had not received any complaints from nearby residents about the site for the night market. On claims that applications had to be submitted through councillors, Rajiv stated that this was not true.
