MAA: Government focusing on EVs now; there will be no extra incentives for mass market ICE-powered cars

When it comes to regular internal combustion engine powered vehicles, do not expect further incentives by the government for the auto industry and car buyers, as policymakers are focused on electric vehicles now. This was conveyed by Malaysian Automotive Association president Datuk Aishah Ahmad at the auto club’s“As far as I know, we’re not expecting anything on ICE cars because the focus of the government right now is on EVs.

“The focus is to make sure that it’s a green environment by 2050. The government has not really scaled down on hybrids ,” she said.
