'Ticketmaster ought to look in the mirror and say, 'I'm the problem. It's me.'' Lawmakers on Capitol Hill grilled a top executive from Ticketmaster’s parent company Live Nation over the Taylor Swift concert tickets fiasco.

A top executive at Ticketmaster’s parent company Live Nation Entertainment was grilled by lawmakers on Tuesday after the service’s inability to process orders for Taylor Swift’s upcoming tour left millions of people unable to buy tickets late last year. Over the course of the three-hour hearing, Live Nation president and CFO Joe Berchtold was pressed by senators and some of his fellow witnesses on whether his company was too dominant in the industry, thereby harming rivals, musicians and fans.

Clyde Lawrence, a singer-songwriter on the witness panel, explained how the company acts as a promoter, a venue and the ticketing company, which eats into performing artists’ revenues. Artists, he said, have no leverage over Live Nation. “Since both our pay and theirs is a share of the show’s profits, we should be true partners aligned in our incentives — keep costs low while ensuring the best fan experience,” he said.

The election is getting closer. The puppets have been televising alot of their dances. Ticketmaster owns over 80% of the market. Ticketmaster is a monster or a monopoly that should be busted to smithereens. But our puppets won't do it. Just ask Mr. Rockefeller

The problem is Tech ,it is not Capitalism , ex A train ticket was a fixed fare ,now they go up, never down according to how many seats are sold on that train, every day different ,every train different . TECH IS THE BEAST !!!

TM aid a freaking monopoly, Break it up🤷‍♂️

This may be a simplistic idea but why not cap the amount a ticket can be resold for? For example it would be illegal to sell a ticket at more than 10% over face value. Doing so could reduce the big business of re-sale and eliminate bots buying tickets.

Because of Taylor Swift tickets? Omg who cares

The real problem is the inordinate number of simps that have to see TS.

And I was worried they wouldn't be ready to tackle the tough issues facing us. Guess I was wrong. 😕

Bandaids won’t fix this bullet hole

Yall worried about tickets? We are talking about tickets? Are you serious? Of all the issues that are currently at issue questioning the CEO of Live Nation was at the top of the list? Fire them all.

Is this a joke? We have way way way more pressing things to worry about11 Folks, pay attention!
