He was delivering the keynote address at the annual Education Lekgotla taking place in Sandton, Johannesburg. Ramaphosa says he’s particularly pleased with this year’s matric results which show that poorer schools are gaining ground on their more affluent counterparts as a result of government’s spending on education.

“Since Bantu education, which did one of the most terrible damages to our nation’s education, we have been improving in poorer schools and the results are becoming more and more positive. Almost becoming equal to the higher better-endowed schools, this is the silent revolution that we have always wanted to achieve,” adds the President.

Ramaphosa says the greater the scope of basic education streams, the better the learners’ prospects of securing employment after school.“These subjects include Agriculture, Maritime and Nautical Science, Electrical, Civil and Mechanical technologies amongst others, are the types of subjects we want to see spreading in many of our schools. They are the vocations our economy sorely needs.

With requiring only 30% to pass, no wonder it looks like we are doing well educationally. SA has 'gone to pot'. It's sad when you were given, on a plate, a perfect, well run country... look at it now.... so well done!

Fu** U

Haisuka,it's because you made it impossible to fail

Not all matriculants want to go to university , college or institution of higher learning , those who want Varsity will perform at Varsity standards , today a lot of students have been rejected at Varsity even though they qualify to do the course.

Eff revolution

Really with a 30% benchmark Mr President, with a Minister that has no impact

President Cyril Ramaphosa says there is a silent revolution taking place in South Africa’s education sector. SORRY TO BURST YOUR BUBBLE WE DOINT HAVE A GOOD EDUCTION SYTEM ANY MORE

CyrilRamaphosa Can you address the loadshedding problem as it is negatively affecting the Economy, are you trying to say you're blind to realise that 🙄🙄

How about in the country. Poverty, energy crisis, unemployment rate, and corruption the list is endless

A whole lot of bullshit right there!

The Marxist revolution is every where

33.3% pass that doesn' allow university entrance. Maths literacy and Life orientation that have no scores for university entrance. Curriculum that do not give matric students any job opportunities or skills to start their business. Education has dropped. But 2024 is not far.

And the farmer took another load away!

There's a silent revolution waiting to impeach you Cyril Ramaphosa

Curriculum overload does not mean quality education. In fact, it brings more problems as knowledge and skills are not cemented but rushed over

As he lies again. Mxm nonsense of person this one.

It's an illusion. We need real tests and real consequences. Real education starts with the fear of the Lord God - not trying to hide results or corrupting our children with CSE

He doesn’t see the presidency is overstretched and can’t even appoint the SABC board on time!
