Mansfield is weighing incentives for a project that could eventually host film production and create over 2,000 full time jobs.

The first project, located at the northeast corner of Klein Tools Boulevard and 7th Avenue, involves mixed-use development on 70 acres currently owned by the Mansfield Economic Development Corporation. The first phase of the project will include development for medium- to large-scale productions within the film industry, according to city documents.

Under the agreement, the company would put $1 million down for the property and the seller will finance $6.3 million with a 4% interest rate, with payments waived for the first five years.
