Ahead of the Xiaomi 13 series’ official Malaysian launch next Monday , the company’s CEO, Lei Jun has a message for fans that might be holding out for the next-gen Xiaomi 13s series. Taking to Weibo, Lei Jun said that there won’t be an “s” version of the smartphone lineup coming out.
This is because Xiaomi has no plans to make a half-generation upgraded version of its smartphones. Hence, consumers shouldn’t be expecting any “s” versions of their smartphones to come out anytime soon. The Xiaomi CEO further elaborated that instead of introducing half-generation upgrades, it will concentrate on upgrading the current models and providing an overall better experience. He revealed that the current Xiaomi 13 series has gotten positive feedback and is still relevant in the market.
Xiaomi 13 series has already been released in China and starting next week, it will officially be available globally, including in Malaysia. However, it is still to be known whether the global and Malaysian variants would feature the same specs as the Chinese version.
