The city of Pearland is planning to expand treatment capacity at its Barry Rose wastewater treatment plant. The city of Pearland has hired a company to serve as project advisor as it embarks on a project to expand capacity and upgrade operations at the Barry Rose wastewater treatment plant.

Ardurra also serves as advisor on the city’s ongoing project to build a new surface-water treatment plant. The Barry Rose project expansion, which will increase daily water treatment capacity from 3.1 million gallons to 5 million gallons, also includes redirecting wastewater flows to Barry Rose from the city’s Longwood plant, 2217 Myrtlewood Drive.

Councilman Alex Kamkar said his vote against awarding the contract reflected his desire to have more discussion and, potentially, citizen approval, before launching large projects. He stressed he had no objection to Ardurra itself and praised the company’s work to keep costs down on the project for the surface-water treatment plant.
